We often get questions regarding how we use our levy funding from the DSU. We want to show you that we're putting it to good use! Here's a budget breakdown as of the 2024/2025 school year.
The Budget
We receive an annual levy from the DSU that supports our operations. In March 2025, we got a levy increase—doubling our funding! This means we can run more trips and offer even more subsidized rates, making outdoor adventures more accessible for everyone.

Our team at DOS is entirely volunteer-run—no one gets paid. Our " payment" is essentially semester team trips (as outlined in our budget) and occasional meeting pizzas.
We also have we also have a lot of administrative costs! These include subscriptions for our website, Communauto, and other services that keep things running smoothly. Trust us, it all adds up!
